Day 16, New Year

I am trying to convince myself I don't have a cold. I am ignoring the symptoms in the hopes that they will go away sooner. I'll let you know how that works for me.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I went to Whole Foods. I love Whole Foods. The one near me, in Oakville, has a very small seating area otherwise I would actually go there and hang out and have lunch. Their coffee is excellent as well.

It is pricey but I like that I can get items there that I can't find anywhere else and I get lots of ideas from their salad bar and deli/prepared meals counter.  Yesterday we saw an orzo, cranberry and pecan salad. It looked delicious. They always have samples and yesterday I tried Amy's Refried Beans. They were delicious! I've never liked refried beans but these were creamy and didn't have that heavy, beany taste - you know?  I like most of Amy's products but am afraid to try them in case I don't like them and wasting money.  I should be more adventurous.

Over the next week, I'll write about some of the new-to-me food items I picked up and will be trying.

I haven't been outside yet but it looks like a sunny, albeit cold, day in the neighbourhood. I wouldn't go out today if I didn't have to, but I need to drive my son's girlfriend home and pick up some fruit for the coming week and get tissues and some cold meds. I know they don't hasten the cold but they alleviate the symptoms and if I feel better, that's all that really matters.

Have a great Sunday!

  1. Whole Foods is so addictive and wonderful, isn't it?! My neighbor works there. I'm jealous of him. LOL!

I hope you don't have a cold. But...if you do: get better fast.

  2. I've got to make the drive to Oakville and visit Whole Foods. I've always wanted to. I drove my daughter's bf home tonight...I wish his parents would drive my girl home once in a while!

  3. Can't wait to hear about the new-to-me foods! I started trying a new food every time I go to the Farmers Market and it's opened up a new world of foods!

  4. I don't think we have a whole foods, but I love to go to the markets or the organic stores. Finding new food I love is always so great!

  5. More snow coming to Tennessee, better stock up on some Whole Foods, LOL!

  6. Happy New Year Enz! I've been on vacation so have been not great commenting this year so far, but I've been reading and am very glad to have you back!
